National Service Scheme or in short NSS is One of the Co-curricular activities in which students took part to develop their personality & leadership quality. NSS is a co-curricular activity guided and funded by the Govt. of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports). Students can enroll themselves in their Institutional NSS Units. The Office of the State NSS Officer of WB took the expertise of Ramkrishna Mission Ashram, Narendrapur, Kolkata to motivate and train the Program Officers (POs) who are the main part of NSS. Because, these trained POs then motivate the NSS volunteers to make them a better human being in future. The main objective of NSS is: “Personality Development of Students through Community Services”. The motto of NSS is: ‘Not Me, But You’. It means, my problem will be solved later on; let’s solve your problem first.

The NSS UNIT 1 of GGDC MANBAZAR II has started its journey from 7th April, 2017. Mr. Rajesh Dey, Assistant Professor of Physics was assumed the charge of NSS Program Officer from this date. Starting from its initial days, the NSS UNIT has organized numerous Programs on varied topics, seminars, awareness programs, rallies, community services, cleanliness drive and outreach programs at our adopted villages. There is an Advisory committee which regularly monitors and give their best expertise to run the NSS wing successfully. One RED RIBBON CLUB has been formed in 2017 which mainly works on spreading AIDS and Thalassemia awareness.
