Government General Degree College, Manbazar-II offers undergraduate courses in two streams: Humanities and Science. It also offers Program /regular Courses (general) on Humanities and Science subjects.

Humanities

The Bachelor of Humanities requires three years of full time study consisting of six semesters. The College offers 7 honours courses and 7 programs in six Humanities subjects: Bengali, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology and Santali. Apart from the specific honours and program subjects, the skill enhancement courses (SEC), ability enhancement compulsory course(AECC), generic courses (GE), discipline specific elective (DSE), modern Indian languages (MIL) are included in the curriculum of the affiliating university. Humanities degrees are focused on increasing a students’ knowledge and critical thinking in accordance to the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the affiliating university (SidhoKanhoBirsa University, Purulia). These courses aim to prepare students with a sound knowledge and skills to connect across geographical, disciplinary, social and cultural boundaries, understand the importance of ethical behaviour and lifelong learning habits.

Science

The Bachelor of Science requires three years of full time study consisting of six semesters. The College offers 2 honours courses two science subjects: Geology and Mathematics, and six science programs in six subjects: Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology, Apart from the specific honours and program subjects, the skill enhancement courses (SEC), ability enhancement compulsory course (AECC), generic courses (GE) and discipline specific elective (DSE) are included in the curriculum of the affiliating university. These courses introduce a wide range of topics to students, develop reasoning through unfamiliar problems through critical and analytical thinking and to find a systematic approach in analysing solving problems through teamwork with importance to safe laboratory practice.
